Our Story
Our beginning
Renewed Life Church began in September 2020, out of a desire to reach Pickering and the surrounding Durham Region with the gospel. We were planted by Christ Almighty Baptist Church in Scarborough, with a mission to glorify God, make disciples, and build relationships in our community.
A journey of faith and commitment
It started with a small group of believers united by a love for God and a desire to see his kingdom grow in this region. We launched in the middle of a pandemic, which meant learning to be the church without most of the things churches usually rely on. God proved faithful through it. He grew our congregation, deepened our relationships, and opened doors to serve our neighbours.
A church on mission
We are not only a Sunday gathering. We are a community on mission, learning to live out Christ’s call every day, reaching those who do not yet know Jesus and making room for believers to grow..

A new season
In 2026 we took a significant step. After years of being supported and shepherded by our sending church, Renewed Life Church became an independent, incorporated church and a registered Canadian charity, with its own elders, its own board, and its own responsibility before God for this community.
With that step came a new name. We had been Life Church. We are now Renewed Life Church, a name that says plainly what we believe God does: he makes people new.
We remain grateful for Christ Almighty Baptist Church, who gave years of prayer and support to see this church planted.
Our Leadership
Renewed Life Church is led by a team of elders alongside Lead Pastor Lendl Salangsang and Pastor in Training Jeremy Bautista. Together they are committed to equipping believers to live out their faith in ordinary, everyday ways. Meet the Team
We are blessed to have a dedicated group of volunteers who serve faithfully in a variety of ministries, helping to create a welcoming environment for all who come through our doors. From the worship team to the kids ministry, every team member plays a crucial role in making Renewed Life Church a place where people can encounter God and find community. Serve with us
Growing in depth and discipleship
Our vision is to grow not just in numbers, but also in spiritual depth. We are passionate about making disciples who make disciples—helping people take their next steps in faith through small groups, baptism, service, and leadership development.
Our commitment to discipleship is central to who we are, as we seek to raise up leaders who will impact the community and beyond.
Looking ahead
We are a young church in a new season, and we are expectant. Our hope is to keep growing in depth and in number, to build lasting relationships with God, each other, and our community, and to be a church that impacts lives for generations.
